Tuscany

Florence, August 2012

We went on a family holiday to Florence (we stayed in a small town about 15k out of the centre). I hired a Bianchi and have loved them ever since. I don’t have any decent photos (this was before iPhone, was using a BB) and none of the rides are on Strava. I’d basically just started cycling and so did a bunch of rides, mostly about an hour long from our villa (although I did cycle the bike back into the centre of Florence at the end of the holiday). It’s rolling terrain, pretty lumpy – hillier than round where I live in Hampshire and of course it also suffers from the same problem that you want to keep stopping to take photos.

I’m definitely going back here on a proper cycling holiday one day.
