Loch Katrine

Scotland, 2014

We cycled from the outskirts of Glasgow (from the Erskine bridge) up the clyde, onto Loch Lomond and then around Loch Katrine.. The road around Loch Katrine is closed to cars, very lumpy and a bit of a dodgy surface in places, but it’s rideable on a road bike and is terrific.

It’s about 160k all the way up there from Glasgow and back and includes a trip through The Dukes Pass, which is a cheeky little climb.

The terrain is not too hard on this ride – the main problem is wanting to stop the whole time to take photographs because it is stunning.
